Pregnancy

Looking for help?

That’s why we’re here…

Finding out about an expected pregnancy can be a confusing and frightening experience. You may not know in whom you can confide or where you can get help. maybe you are faced with choices that have no easy answers. You need to know you have somewhere to turn, someone who cares.

At the Witney Pregnancy Crisis Centre we listen, we understand, and we can help. Here you’ll find someone you can talk to, someone you can trust. You’ll find someone who will provide the emotional support you may need during a difficult time. We can help you weigh the options so you won’t be pressured or panicked into sudden decisions.
Talk it through…

Don’t panic. Don’t be pressured into sudden decisions. If you come to us you can talk confidentially and privately to one of our counsellors, either by phone or at the centre. The counsellor will help YOU work through to a considered decision on how to tackle the crisis. You will be offered complete information and space to think, so that your decision is neither hurried nor based on ignorance.

The Centre

The Witney Pregnancy Crisis Centre is one of more than 150 centres nationwide co-ordinated by CareConfidential. Since the Centre opened in 1988 we have given support to hundreds of women, and their partners and families, who have concerns related to pregnancy. We are an independent voluntary organization, run by trained advisors. We exist to provide help and support to those facing difficult pregnancy-related decisions and circumstances and to those seeking help at any time after an abortion.

Our team of trained and supervised volunteers offer the following services free of charge to all who have need of them:

  • ‘immediate result’ pregnancy testing
  • confidential advice
  • support, practical help and befriending
  • advice following miscarriage, stillbirth and abortion
  • male advisors are available and family work can be arranged

All our advisors have been trained to avoid pushing any one particular agenda on a client but to work with her through the range of options to discover which ones she feels is right for her to pursue. With national moves to make adoption easier we believe this is an alternative option for many women to consider.
