Marriage enrichment
OFT believes that even the best marriages can get better, which is why we run a number of marriage enrichment events.
The Marriage Course

The Marriage Course is a series of seven sessions designed to help any married couple or a couple in an established long-term relationship strengthen their relationship. It gives time together as a couple looking at the important issues in your relationship.
The course is very practical and will help equip you with the tools needed to build a healthy marriage that lasts a lifetime.
Each week you are given the opportunity to enjoy coffee and desserts together and listen to a talk. Then there is plenty of time to discuss the topic as a couple. There is no group work involved at any stage of the course.
At the end of each session you will be given some homework to do together before the next session. It isn’t looked at by anyone else and is just for your own benefit to help you continue discussing at home.
The talk titles are:
- Building Strong Foundations
- The Art of Communication
- Resolving Conflict
- The Power of Forgiveness
- Parents and In-laws
- Good Sex
- Love in Actions
While the course is based on Christian principles couples are welcome with or without a church background. Many couples who are not churchgoers have enjoyed and benefited from doing the course.
At the end of each session you will be given some homework to do together before the next session. It isn’t looked at by anyone else and is just for your own benefit to help you continue your discussion at home.

Time out to enrich your marriage. These residential weekends away from all the distractions are the perfect opportunity to refresh and revitalise your marriage.
Making the Most of the Empty Nest
When the children have gone will you still recognise your wife or husband? To help make the adjustment, this is a residential weekend for couples whose children have, or are about to, leave home.
Marriage Enrichment Seminars
These seminars can be an evening, half day or whole day event, depending on the subject matter being covered.

Marriage Inventories
Inventories are an ideal way to identify how much agreement there is in a couples outlook on some of the big issues in marriage. Where major differences are found, these areas can be dealt with before it develops in to a major problem. We use two inventories: PREPARE/ENRICH and FOCCUS.
